This instrument is designed to assist couples in deepening their marital intimacy. Use it to identify areas of strength and areas of weakness. Once identified, choose one area to focus on and create an action plan for strengthening your marriage in that area. When growth is achieved in that area choose a second area and repeat the process.
The assessment is designed to be taken individually and then processed together. Using a 10-point scale rate your marriage in each area. The results may be interpreted as follows:
– Areas where each has a high score are areas of strength to be celebrated.
– Areas where each has a low score are areas of weakness and points of emphasis when seeking to deepen intimacy.
– Areas where the couple’s scores are 3 or more points apart indicate one partner is significantly more satisfied in that area than the other.
– It is important not to argue that one score is right and the other wrong. Part of the value of the process is learning how your mate feels, not lobbying for your position.
