About Dr. Young

Even as a boy, Dr. Tim Young was moved by the overwhelming impact that divorce was having on American families; divorce was becoming sadly common. As a Bible and Psychology major at Abilene Christian University, Dr. Young discovered his passion for helping husbands and wives effectively respond to the challenges of marriage. He had an intense desire to help struggling families recapture victory. He went on to Texas Tech University where he completed a Family Studies program and was awarded an M.S., and later a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy.

As a husband of 36 years and a father of two children, he has a personal understanding of the contemporary challenges that marriages and families face. After 33 years of private practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist, he has encountered the unfamiliar truths and secrets to living a marriage of distinction (Malachi 3:18). Most marriages do not live at a thriving level and Dr. Young is on a mission to help 1 million marriages unlock this level via his revolutionary approach, “Your Couch Not Mine.” Dr. Young is reaching out to everyone online with this power of distinction.

The Christ-centered approach that Dr. Young employs has repeatedly brought success. His approach is as potent as it is rare. Numerous lives and restored relationships well-document its effectiveness.

The success his clients have enjoyed has brought him out of the office and into larger arenas. He is determined to help bring this therapeutic approach to all who are willing to hear. He has spoken for churches, conducted marriage seminars, developed a customized marriage reconciliation program for high-risk relationships, and taught extensively on a wide range of topics relevant to the success of the Christian family. He is also completing an upcoming book, designed to help the families of God live in distinction, protection, and power. This unique approach has repeatedly yielded remarkable results for those who engage it.
